Hair Archives: Giovanni Cosmetics Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo Review

Price: $7.99 for 8.5 oz
Where to buy: High end beauty stores (Ulta), Amazon and various websites on the Internet, some Target, Walmart and Walgreens locations.

Product Description: Invigorating shampoo. Enriched with certified organic botanicals. No animal by-products. Cruelty free. Increases scalp circulation for a refreshed, renewed feeling. Removes all traces of dirt, oils and build up. Alleviates dry, flaking scalp with organic peppermint botanicals. Contains no laurel/laureth sulfates. Shampoo should clean hair. Really good shampoo should make you tingle from head to toe. With Tea Tree Triple Treat Shampoo, invigorating ingredients wash in rejuvenation while washing away the previous day. You’re left with something rich, something clean. Something incredibly stimulating for hair and mind. Think about it. Made in USA.

Key Ingredients: Aqua (Purified Water) with Certified Organic Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) Oil, Certified Organic Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) Oil, Certified Organic Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Officinalis) Oil, Certified Organic Rosemary (Rosmarinus Officinalis) Oil

Directions: Massage rich lather into wet hair and rinse. Follow with conditioner.

My Review: The first thing I notice about hair products is the smell. This product smells like tea tree oil and mint, which is wonderfully refreshing. I used the product on damp hair, and used it as directed. I applied a quarter sized amount to each section; and immediately noticed how much this product lathers.

Here is how my hair looked after I applied the shampoo and applied it to my hair:

Some people claim that they felt a tingling sensation while using this shampoo, I however, did not. Oddly enough, when I was completely done washing, conditioning, deep conditioning, and twisting my hair with my leave in, I moisturized my scalp with Castor oil. As I laid down for bed I felt a tingling sensation in my scalp, and it felt GREAT! I am certain that the tingling was not from the conditioner, deep conditioner, leave-in or oil, since these products are regulars in my regimen.

Rinsing out the shampoo was easy. This shampoo left my hair feeling cleansed and my scalp feeling refreshed. This most certainly is a clarifying shampoo, my hair felt squeaky clean. My hair has been in braids for the past three weeks, so not only was my scalp dry and irritated, but it was a little dirty. After washing it out, the minty fragrance did not linger.

My Final Comments: All in all, the shampoo did what it needed to do, my scalp and hair was clarified by it. The ingredients are great, and the fragrance is minty and refreshing. A little goes a long way, you do not need a lot to work up a lather. The price is great, and you can find some great bargains around the net. Would I purchase this item again? Yes, I always like to keep a clarifying shampoo handy.
